The relationship with bone

Muscle Training with GalileoMuscle and Bone are linked very closely.
Bone adapts by maximum (peek) forces which are applied during every day living. Astonishingly these maximum (peek) forces are not caused by external influences but are caused by the muscles. This becomes clear when keeping the typical lever arms inside the body in mind. These Lever arms (for example 3:1 between the toe and the Achilles tendon) make it necessary for the muscle to generate very high forces in a closely controlled way.

To prevent or even to compensate bone resorption due to disuse (unfortunately this bone loss is quite often misleadingly referred to as Osteoporosis) the stress on the bones has to be above the lower threshold level during every day living. This can be done by Galileoâ„¢ Training which can be used to regain muscle power and in special cases muscle force and hence stimulate bone adaptation.

Which muscles are affected?

When standing on the machine Galileo-Training affects all muscles of the legs up into the trunk, training emphasis may be put on certain muscle groups by body posture, joint angles and body stiffness. To work on your upper body you simply place your hands on the plate.

If you keep your body upright and your legs stiff you feel more intensity in the gluteal, back and abdominal muscles. If you reduce the stiffness in the legs, the training affect concentrates more in the lower limbs.
