Whole body
vibration is not a new concept and has recently been re-discovered
in Western Europe. It's potential has caused huge interest
from many of the leading physiologists in the world. The Galileo
system has convincingly shown a benefit in muscle performance
and bone strength in individuals for over 20 years.
1960's - The first experiments and research
on vibration technology are carried out in Eastern Europe
by Professor Biermann.
1970's - Russian scientists further develop
vibration technology to counter-act the loss of muscle strength
and bone density experienced by cosmonauts during space missions.
Thanks to vibration technology the stronger, better-adapted
Russian cosmonauts are able to spend an astonishing 420 days
in space.
1983 - NovoTec Medical based in Germany
carries out research into whole body vibration and the Galileo
system.
1996 - After lots of research and development
NovoTec Medical Germany produce the worlds first 'commercial'
side alternating vibration machine.
1999 - Other manufacturers start producing
vertical vibration systems. Due to Novotec's patent, the unique
oscillating function of Galileo cannot be copied. |
