Training
Before training on the Galileo you need to understand how Galileo works. This comes down to three factors frequency, amplitude and body position.



Frequency


Galileo operates between 5-30 hertz per second. Unlike many other vibration machines none of our frequencies are pre-set, enabling you to choose the exact frequency for your requirements. The frequency determines the number of vibrations per second, for example a training session of 1 minute at 25 Hertz will be 60 x 25 = 1,500 cycles per minute. To help you with your training/therapy goals we recommended the following frequencies:

05-15 hz - Relax tensed muscles, increase flexibility and reduce pain
10-15hz - Balance & co-ordination
15-30hz - Tone, Increase strength, Increase muscle power

When you first start training we recommend you start at 15-18hz
Research has shown that the optimum training frequency is between 25-27hz.



Amplitude


Narrow foot position
= small amplitude

wide stance
Wide foot position
= large amplitude


On the base unit is a number strip if you align your toe with a number this will ensure your feet are correctly placed and that your body travels an equal distance. The closer your feet are together the less muscle extension is required, as you progress you will become more flexible and your muscle will become stronger allowing you to increase your foot stance.(1-5 depending on model). If you feel your feet slipping when using the Galileo you are training at a too high amplitude, reduce your stance and gradually work your way up.

Weights, balls, sticks & elastic bands can all be used to vary muscle tension in specific parts of the body.
